In reply to SpiritX's post on February 5, Thank you SpiritX for your very comprehensive response. It is greatly appreciated. It will take me a while to go through everything listed but I will report back when done. It passed all the compatibility tests with the Upgrade Assistant but I will do further checks on this.

I have done a complete re-install of Windows 8 since the problems with the printer were found so I don't think a refresh is necessary. Kodak have also performed driver changes remotely, although as previously stated the two support engineers contradicted which driver it 'definitely' should be.

The Fujitsu website states regarding the Esprimo P Your product is not supported for Windows 8 However, this doesn't necessarily mean it is not compatible with Windows 8 but I suppose it will mean there will be no specific drivers for this model for Windows 8.

Normally you would expect that Fujitsu would not say it is not Windows 8 compatible unless there were issues. So it probably will not function properly on Windows 8. Rob - SpiritX. In reply to SpiritX's post on February 6, Fujitsu say that the Esprimo P is not supported for Windows 8.

This is probably because it is a few years old now. Would you suggest trying the Windows 7 drivers, if available, for the chipset Intel Q45 and other devices? I'm sure I read somewhere that Windows 8 has a lot of up to date drivers already included for things like the Intel Q45 chipset etc Would it be a backward step if I installed the Windows 7 drivers? For the Kodak Hero 5.
